Here are 2 windows (see also Ref F ) showing the Madonna and Child on the left who appears with St Anne, Patron Saint of Mothers on the right. She was chosen to be Christ’s earthly mother; the dedication is fittingly also of mother and daughter and reads - To the Glory of God and in loving memory of my dear mother Edith Mary Gregson from her daughter Francis Caroline Gregson 2nd February 1925. “Let them that also love thy name be joyful in thee” – Psalm V. The windows were made by Atkinson Bros of Newcastle established in 1876. Mrs. Gregson was married to Col. J W Gregson of Burdon Hall. Rev W Atkinson, Vicar of Silksworth, dedicated the window on 28th March 1926.
